Vakratunda:
An evil spirit named Matsara was conceived out of the Pramaada (Heedlessness) of Indra, the ruler of Gods. This evil presence performed serious retribution and conjured the finesse of Lord Shiva and got the aid of bravery from Him. Having acquired the shelter he went about vanquishing all the three planets," He was coronated as the ruler of Asuras by their preceptor Sukracharya. The crushed divine beings went to Kailasa and petitioned Lord Shiva for assurance. On listening to the mission of divine beings, Matsara went to Kailas and vaniquished Lord Shiva moreover. At the point when the divine beings were confounded to realize what to do next. Master Dattatreya came there. He prompted the divine beings to summon the finesse of Lord Vakratunda and bestowed to them the mystery of the monosyllable mantra Gam. All the divine beings including Shiva did repentance likewise and finally Lord Vakratunda showed up and guaranteed them that he would repress the devil. The devil was so alarmed at the sight of Vakratunda that he surrendered to Him and looked for asylum at His feet. The Lord pardoned him, and restored the lost magnificence and kingdoms to the divine beings, and to the different rulers on earth.
